Auto cores are junk automotive parts used for rebuilding or scrap metal. What is our business? Basically we're a ♻️recycling company that specializes in junk auto parts. We've been doing the green thing back before it was cool. 😉

You only need a license to sell Catalytic Converters. It must be an Automotive related business license. You can also use a Scrap Metal Pro or Junk Dealer license, you can apply for one at your local courthouse (The county you reside in).

We buy car parts for cash whether they work or not including motors, transmissions, differentials, car rims, alternators, starters, water pumps, A/C pumps, radiators, power steering pumps, brake calipers, turbochargers, rack and pinion steering, brake boosters, brake rotors, ABS units, steering gear boxes, torque converters, throttle bodies, modules, headlights, axles, car batteries, catalytic converters, etc. 

We also buy scrap metals including steel, cast iron, aluminum, copper, brass, stainless steel, lead, electric motors, air conditioning coils/parts, etc. If it's metal, if it's a car part, we buy it whether it works or not.

Things like whole cars, urns, beer kegs, oil filters, air bags, manhole covers, large appliances like refrigerators, hot water heater tanks, washers and dryers, anything with Freon or refrigerants must be cleared out of the system before turning in, air conditioning units like the air handler and outside unit, need to be broken down, components like the coils, compressors, steel, and copper piping must be weighed separately. Aluminum cans (which are a grade of aluminum we don't process), propane tanks whether they're full or empty. Although we buy tires with the rims still on it, we do not buy just the tires.

Scrap Is organized and separated into many different categories and prices. Due to the daily fluctuations of scrap prices we do not post our prices online. Please call the office @ 301 952 6855 for current up to date prices

Please drive up to, BUT NOT INTO, the gate by the dumpster and wait for one of our staff to approach you with further instructions. 

If your a new customer you must give your driver's license to the cashier before getting paid.

The Front door/office is off limits it's kept locked for security reasons.

No, we are open rain or shine. Only in extreme cases like blizzards or hurricanes do we close down. Follow our Facebook page to stay up to date.

Bare Bright: This grade of copper looks brand new without a spot of green deterioration or insulation on it. Must be spotless!

#1: This grade is copper that is old but not heavy with green decay. Must be free of paint, insulation, or any other non copper elements.

#2: This grade of copper is the dirty stuff, anything that has heavy green deterioration, painted, or contains solder which is common with plumbing pipe. Any wiring that has red or silver or any other color coating on it is classified as number two. Copper with the insulation burned off falls into this category. 

Things like copper radiators and copper wiring with insulation still on it are in different categories and prices. For questions please call our office.

When we talk of dirty scrap metals we're referring to how much of the scrap item is all aluminum or all copper or all steel. For example aluminum radiators may have a lot of plastic and steel bolts on it, that's considered dirty aluminum. A radiator with all the bolts and plastics removed are considered clean. Clean Scrap pays more than dirty. Call if you have any questions.

No. Auto salvage yards strip parts off of cars to sell as used to customers. Any parts that are junk, don't work, or can't be sold outright gets sold to us as cores or scrap. We can't take whole cars, parts must be stripped off the car before turning in to us.
